MURALS

Mural 1 -
Location; US Vintage clothing store in South Beach, Miami, opposite the Loews Hotel on Collins Ave.
Manageress Clarissa’s comments on the murals;
“I find them very entertaining, and I love the bright colors. People admire them all the time.”
The murals are on the walls of the corridor of the changing rooms - the rooms are off on either side and you can see the doors in the photos. The previous manager of US Vintage, Avi, wanted these two very different murals – a very innocent looking fairy and a diabolic character on the right. It was a pleasure to oblige, even when I had to rework the orange in the wicked looking mural as Avi wanted an unusual shade of orange.
I really enjoyed this project, the staff at US Vintage were all fun to work with and it was nice getting comments from buyers in the store as I painted.
Tiger - my first project in the US Vintage was a painting of a tiger’s face in the shop window to the left, but it doesn’t photograph well because of the reflective glare of the storefront glass so a photo of it isn’t included here.
What you can’t see in the photo is that there are gold sequins on the gold parts of the mural, and that gives it a fun, exciting feel.
